Franky Wah and Cristoph release Darkest Hour. A new collaborative single from two of the leading names in melodic house and techno, Darkest Hour is out now via Franky Wah’s label, SHÈN Recordings.

Continuing with their ongoing theme of collaboration, which has already seen Franky Wah and Cristoph release the 2021 dance floor hit The World You See, along with sharing the DJ booth for highly praised back-to-back sets, today’s release features two new tracks which have been played out by both artists to great acclaim.

The title track, Darkest Hour, also features Diana Miro, the vocalist whose emotional harmonies and instantly enchanting lyrics have seen her become one of dance music’s most intriguing new talents. Diana’s own collaborations include working with the likes of Tom Staar, Avira and Cosmic Gate, along with Eelke Kleijn, who she also performed live with for global live streaming platform Cercle.

Darkest Hour signals Franky Wah’s first new music of 2023 which follows the release of last year’s This Is SHÈN – A new mixtape of 27 previously unreleased tracks which featured collaborations with vocalists Robinson, Luisant and Lunar June, along with dance music visionary Sasha.

Both prolific in the underground circuit as well as crossing over to the commercial side of dance music, Franky was tipped as a ‘Future Star’ by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong in 2020 and has continued to move from strength to strength ever since. With continuous support from the likes of Annie Mac, Danny Howard and Mistajam, Franky has also become a regular name at some of the world’s most esteemed festivals and venues including Creamfields, Glastonbury, Fabric and The Warehouse Project, with his own headline tours across North America, South America and Australia establishing a momentous and adoring global fanbase.

In the studio, Franky Wah’s glistening discography has seen him release on labels including Tale Of Us’ Afterlife Recordings, Anjunadeep and Ministry Of Sound, along with heading up SHÈN Recordings and Terracotta Records – two labels where he continues to build a catalogue of his own productions as well as providing platforms for his peers and emerging new talent.

Marking his meteoric rise, Franky’s output of singles, EP’s and mixtapes have regularly peaked at the top of the Beatport and Radio 1 Dance charts respectively. Regularly gaining support from some of the industry’s leading artists such as Sasha, John Digweed, Solomun, Adriatique and Carl Cox.

Hailing from the North East city of Newcastle, Cristoph has distinguished himself as a mainstay amongst the house and techno circuit. It was evident from the start that Cristoph was destined for success, picking up early support from the likes of Eric Prdyz, John Digweed, Hot Since 82 and Camelphat.

Year upon year, Cristoph continues to add to his already remarkable discography of releases on labels including Bedrock, Last Night On Earth, Truesoul, Knee Deep in Sound, Yoshi Toshi, and Selador. On the live circuit, he’s a regular at the likes of Tomorrowland, Hideout, Parklife, Ultra Miami, Hï Ibiza and many more.

Cristoph’s unique style has led to the creation of some stunning tunes over the years; 2018 saw him collaborate with Camelphat to release the global dance music hit, Breathe. With videos of the track sending clubbers into overdrive from Ibiza and beyond, Breathe arrived on Eric Prydz’ ‘Pryda Presents’ label in November 2018. Crossing over to receive commercial success as well as dominating the underground circuit, Breathe reached the top 40 singles chart, along with being certified gold in the UK. The track also received a momentous reception in the U.S, peaking at number 21 on the U.S Billboard dance club songs chart.

After numerous successful global singles which continue to build and be adored by his ever-growing global fanbase, 2022 saw him launch his own label titled Consequence of Society – a platform initially only for his own productions, with close friends and like-minded artists set to feature in the not-too-distant future. Marking his entrance into 2023, Cristoph recently announced FaCet – a new concept set to showcase the many different styles and genres of his musical influences which will be released in March of this year via Consequence of Society.
