As Confession continues to forge the path of innovative and fresh sounds, it’s no surprise that they’ve enlisted the likes of French producer / DJ powerhouse Mercer. The seasoned Parisian is set to drop the lead single “Opium” from his aptly titled Opium EP on Tchami’s prominent label, Confession. Available to purchase on iTunes, “Opium” serves as the 2nd EP to be released on the imprint following Tchami’s massive “After Life” EP.

First featured in Tchami’s ‘What To Expect’ mix at the label’s launch, “Opium” comes at the opportune time, as fans have been patiently waiting for it ever since the brief teaser. Kicking off with a steady 4×4 kick drum intertwined with swirling synths, the track transitions into a melodic piano riff as it steadily builds up to one of Mercer’s most frenetic drops to date. Fully encompassing a grimy yet glitchy ambiance, “Opium” proves to be the perfect slice of mainstage madness that fans have come to expect from the French maestro.

PURCHASE: MERCER – “OPIUM”

Having released critically acclaimed records in the past such as “Welcome To The Jungle”, “Turn It Up” and more, Mercer’s new single doesn’t fall short of his previous high octane tunes.
